By definition, health means complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. I knew this definition while studying, but I never really took it to heart until I saw how my own health took a turn for the worst and it impacted EVERY aspect of my health. I make sure all of my clients now feel healthy in all aspects – physical, mental, emotional, social, financial – of their lives.

How it All Started
Welcome to Leigh Averbeem Fitness, where I specialize in working with women of all life stages to achieve their fitness goals. As a registered Kinesiologist, Certified Personal Trainer, and Pre and Post Natal Specialist, I have the expertise and knowledge to help you navigate the unique challenges that women face throughout their lives.
I take a science-based approach to fitness, combining my deep understanding of human movement and exercise with a holistic and person-centered philosophy. As an IIN Health Coach, IIN Gut Health Coach, IIN Hormone Health Coach, PN Stress Sleep and Recovery Coach, and Behaviour Change Specialist, I take into account your overall health and well-being when developing your fitness plan. My certifications in Fascial Stretch Therapy, Mobility Fundamentals, Life Stretch, and the Science of Stretching highlight my ability to help you improve your range of motion, prevent injuries, and enhance athletic performance.
Whether you’re looking to improve your core strength, work on your mobility and flexibility, or focus on weight loss, I am here to support you every step of the way. My certifications as a Nutrition Coach, Sports Nutrition Coach, Weight Management Specialist, and Performance Enhancement Specialist demonstrate my commitment to helping you achieve your goals through healthy eating habits and sustainable weight loss.
I am also skilled in working with clinical cases and clients who have injuries or chronic conditions. My certification as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and training in Biomechanics Method and Orthopaedic Exercise Specialist allow me to develop safe and effective exercise plans that address your specific needs.
Overall, I am passionate about helping you achieve your fitness goals in a safe, effective, and sustainable way. My diverse range of certifications, combined with my holistic and person-centered approach, make me well-equipped to support you on your fitness journey.

Get to Know Me
- Fun Fact #1: I hate being dirty! Mud, rain, food on my hands and face, ugh. I hated it as a baby and hate it now.
- Fun Fact #2: I won a super expensive bike when I was younger, I was too little for it at the time but was able to use it well throughout my teens and adult life - biggest prize to date!
- Fun fact #3: I've climbed the Manitou Incline TWICE and can't wait to do it a third time 😉
